Our film definitely follows several of the points from Story of Story; "show, don't tell" being one of them. There is a definite unity of action. I do feel like our narrative is successful in placing the viewer in the main characters shoes.
The 3 act structure is a format for creating a cohesive plot line. It involves an inciting incident, false victory, and climax (typically). Dollhouse, however, does not follow this format exactly.
Act 1: Introduces MAN and his "family," it quickly becomes apparent that this is not a typical "family." Act 2: Can be when a family member escapes and MAN finds out
Act 3: The climax can be considered MAN's realization of his predicament and that he has two choices he can make. (SPOILER ALERT ltimately, he chooses death)
