Today we took a long journey to the valley of desolation, otherwise known as Sabrina's house. On the way we got Sabrina her first TacoBell experience and had a dance party to Chromeo. When we got to the house we tried out the strobe light and couldn't figure out why it kept flashing.... THEN, we got to shooting and it went pretty okay. We still need shots and I'm thinking this film is going to be pretty confusing, unfortunately. But the sound in Garrett's dialogue scenes is on point, and the sound of the clock ticking is in the background. mmmhmmm. Unfortunately my face had to be in the film so I'm not looking forward to seeing that. Anyway- this is too stressful and I don't want it anymore.

my stuff sounds horrible. music is harder than I thought it was...
WARNING! POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.
I was searching up some ideas for music and I thought of how awesome the music from the TV show Hannibal is. So I listened to the music from the very end of the last episode of Season 2, when Hannibal slices everyone and leaves, and its so flippin' beautiful that I can't handle it. I'd like our music to sound as creepy but beautiful as the Hannibal music. I'm going to attempt this right now on AudioSauna and GarageBand. "Bloodfest" from Mizumono ![]() shave is no. shaving is never the answer.
a certain actor decided to be a baby face and choose the forbidden answer. now we won't have the sound of the beard rustle- a necessary sound- while he is eating. but seriously, now we may have to redo some shots, I don't even know what the group is planning to do... Our footage we got today was so wonderfully attractive that it made us ill, literally. Today we got the shots of the Killer (Garret) cooking and eating in the breakfast scene. But only Garret because no one else bothered to show up. Anyway. It was beautiful. And then me and Jessica became deathly ill-obviously a result of the sexiness of our footage.
After getting a few of our shots done, with great trouble, I was thinking about what sound would be good for each shot. One of them was the shot with the victim trying to escape with his hands tied. I was thinking that a really stressful and uneasy stringed instrument would fit nicely here. When I find some time, I will upload the foot
I almost died. For. Real. Some people wanted to shoot at night... On a dirt road... In the rain (don't worry- we had umbrellas and everything was wrapped in plastic). And on this dirt road, there were many puddles... And a large ditch running along it. After we finished shooting- which was horrible- we all got in the cars and attempted to turn around. As we were turning, a person who shall remained unnamed, drove the car into... the ditch. And then I died, cried, and rocked back and forth. I think we have traumatized the juniors... BUT. We got the footage. Which was really actually disappointing for the amount of time and effort.
Today in class we watched some title sequences for some cool films on artofthetitle.com. I showed my group the title sequence for Se7en, and they seemed to like it.
So I was looking at the apps suggested for iOS 8, and GarageBand was one, so I clicked it. (I had tried it before but you had to pay for all the instruments!). Anyway, now all the instruments are free and it's cool so I'm happy. Now I will be able to make some music if we aren't able to do a real arrangement. Or I would at least be able to make some sort of sound for simple shots. (ex. The long note of a violin for a suspenseful shot). Yesterday in class we did some sample shots to see how we might set them up for the real shoot. We did a shot where one of the victims is trying to get loose from being tied up, and a follow shot if the victim running away. We experimented with our lighting and found a set up that worked nicely. This was helpful because we will now have an idea of how to set up our shots, instead of wasting time on the actual shoot. Anyway, the two shots we tried ended up looking pretty cool. I have hope for our film. |
